We got moving late this morning. So our only option to get to the train station was a taxi. To our chagrin not one passed. So again I stuck out my thumb. A Mercedes passed and then lingered at a stop light even after it turned green. We approached and they hesitantly rolled down the window. They helped us put our bags in the trunk and we were off. The woman in the passenger seat told us her daughter works for JP Morgan in New York City. We barely made it, but we got on the train and it was the correct one this time!
Once at the Tainan train station our Couchsurfing host Anne met us. She is an enthusiastic and bubbly person. She led us to her home and we were greeted by her lovely family. Since we arrived the day of the Moon Festival, her family invited us to a barbeque. Her aunt and uncle took us to Costco (another point for Taiwan) and we selected some veggies for us to eat. Her aunt was extremely kind and bought some of the extra food we had intended to purchase ourselves for breakfast tomorrow. As for dinner it involved excellent food, fireworks, and more importantly excellent company. I am going to let the photos do the talking.
